Every year approximately 10-20% of physicians are named as defendants in medical malpractice suits (and 80% are not).

The purpose of this continuing medical education program is to enable more physicians to join the latter group.

Physicians who complete this program will understand:

The elements required to prove a claim of medical malpractice
Other legal obligations of physicians
The natural history of malpractice suits
The differences in behavior of non-sued and sued physicians
Strategies for reducing medical malpractice risk
